Premiere: Easter in the Glade

On a typical Easter Sunday, at sunrise, Franklin First United Methodist Church has upwards of 1,000 people elbow-to-elbow in what is called “The Glade” - a lush piece of land striped with creeks, full of indigenous flora, wildlife, and a single old rugged cross.

Even with disciplined social distancing, having that many people together in one area during a 100 year pandemic posed a threat. Thus, this virtual sunrise Easter experience was born to both preserve the health and safety of both congregation and visitors while also stirring their hearts with the story of Christ’s resurrection.

Of all holidays -Christian or otherwise- Easter moves the the most. For that reason I consider myself among the very fortunate to be able to tell this story in partnership with church leadership at Franklin First. Watch below and receive a message of hope in the face of the impossible.
